The "Cadre" Leadership Family

The "Cadre" Leadership Family

A cadre is a group of trained or qualified personnel capable of forming, training, or leading an expanded organization, as a religious or political faction, or a skilled work force.

Using that same logic, LifeStone Cadre was created. LSC Cadre is a nucleolus of pastors, directors and team leaders called to equip others to fulfill God's dream at LifeStone Church. They are a group of leaders who are unified through relationship, vision and the Spirit of God.

Lead Pators, Jack and Jamie Thomas Pastor Jack is originally from Springfield, Missouri while his wife Jamie is from New Castle, Pennsylvania.  The two were married in New Castle, while Pastor Jack was serving as a youth pastor at First Assembly of God. Upon getting married the Lord began to stir in them that change was coming that lead them to Alexandria, Virginia to join a team that would plant DC Metro Church.  While serving in Alexandria they received the call of God on their family to move back to the Western Pennsylvania region and plant a church in Pittsburgh. " It is a great joy to call Pittsburgh and LifeStone Church home.  We couldn’t imagine doing anything else, anywhere else, with anyone else!" Pastor Jack and Jamie have two beautiful children, Annali and Gabe.  The couple's greatest passion in life is the adventure with God they are on together as a family. "There is nothing better than taking an adventure with people you love. Having the ability to enjoy your life and who you do it with is a rare thing in our culture because we get consumed with life and all its demands.  It's so easy to to allow life to become one giant 'to do list' and forget about the adventure God has us on."  So Pastor Jack and Jamie consider it a joy that they can pursue God’s great adventure he has called them to as a family. Pastor Jack's Favorite Verse: Romans 8:28 “God works all things together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.”  This is my favorite verse because I believe it encapsulates the gospel in the most practical way.  This verse describes who God is and what he does.  Many think he’s angry, unfair and condemning.  No, he’s the exact opposite of that.  He is a God so full of grace, power and affection that he will draw close to us as we draw near to him and it’s in that closeness where he transforms those “ things".   He proved this in the most intimate way when his Son Jesus was sent to the earth to die in our place.  Only a powerful God full of grace and affection can and would be willing to do transform us.

Worship Pastor, Josiah Schweinberg Josiah was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He married his high school girlfriend, Heather and they have 3 boys and counting! The presence of God brought him to Lifestone, it is a presence that he feels every time he worships with the Lifestone family. Of course, he loves writing music and playing guitar, but he also enjoys photography and video editing. He tries to make the way he worships a part of everything that he does, which is a big motivation for the creation of #ijustwanttoworship. He encourages every believer to seek after God in everything they do and do missions if they get the chance. Josiah’s Favorite Verse: John 3:30 and Psalms 51:16

Generations Pastor, Ryan Spurlock Ryan was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He attended Central Bible College where he met his wife, Brianne. They pastored together in Washington and Montana before returning to Pittsburgh. Together they have three children, and are blessed to also foster a 1-year old as well. Ryan says that whole fostering process has really wrecked his heart for the innocent while teaching him not to be prejudice against those who sin. Outside of Lifestone, Ryan loves all things DIY along with road trips, vacations and cheese. For any new believer, Ryan says to fall in love with God’s word, “it is the bread to your soul and the light to guide you”. Ryan’s Favorite Verse: John 6

Missions Pastor, Tiffany Freeman Tiffany grew up in Phoenix with her family before coming to Pittsburgh for an internship. After a few summers of interning, she met Pastor Jack and played a role in planning Lifestone. Tiffany is married to Darin and together they have two children whom thy adopted internationally. Meeting and bringing their children home is one time that she felt God was truly using her. In relation to her title, Tiffany’s biggest passion is seeing the Book of Acts lived out in the church today—living to know Jesus and making him known to others, specifically the unreached and lost. Tiffany believes that before you can fall in love with any element of Christianity, you must fall in love with Jesus. Tiffany’s Favorite Verse: Ephesians 1:3-6 (for now at least!)
