LifeGroups (small group ministry)

The small group ministry of LifeStone Church "LifeGroups" will start in the Fall of 2010.  Relationships are very important to us and LifeGroups will be the primary outlet for LifeStone Church to develop those meaningful and strong relationships.  As we are preparing for the launch of LifeGroups in the Fall, our hope is that people will continue to connect via our worship gatherings and community events/outreaches in a consistent and committed way.  LifeGroups will be catalysts to accomplishing our community focus, "Bridging All Cultures to the Cross"!

Contact ronl@lifestonechurch.com for more information on LifeGroups.

Rebecca Schneeberger
Assimilation Director

Rebecca was born and bred in Pittsburgh where she discovered her love for Christ and the Church at a young age.  She has always sensed a great purpose in being connected with what God is doing through His Church.  This led her to study at Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia, where she received her Advanced Diploma in Pastoral Leadership.  It was here that Rebecca developed her leadership skills, which were used in various capacities such as worship, service coordinating, and discipleship.  In addition, Rebecca is currently working towards her Bachelor of Theology Degree.  Rebecca is full of expectation about the transformation that is going to take place in the South Side as people find Christ.

Gretchen Linsenbigler
Administrative Assistant

If you hear the phrase "livin' the dream", chances are Gretchen is talking. A Pittsburgh native gal, Gretchen went to Southwestern A/G University directly after high school. She loved it so much in Texas, she stayed for 11 years. During this time, God allowed her to serve as a retail manager, creative pastor, high school and small groups pastor, producer and director, event coordinator, executive administrator, Chi-Alpha missionary, women's pastor, leadership development director and yes, a door-to-door sales person for those spirally, enviro-friendly light bulbs that you can purchase anywhere these days. But both sides of her huge family are only found in one place, so after seeing the world Gretchen knew Pittsburgh was the next step in her journey. Little did she know that a dream God placed on her heart 9 years ago would come to fruition shortly after returning home. Gretchen is delighted to be serving on staff as the administrator for LifeStone Church with such passionate and fun folks. She has a deep conviction that LifeStone Church is His church, welcoming all people of all types because people are God's favorite. Gretchen believes that LifeStone is going to be a vehicle of change for the South Side and for the world. Her heart is happy here and wouldn't rather be doing anything else in the whole world, cause she's livin' the dream.

Adam Steinsdoerfer

Media Director

Adam was born and raised in a surrounding community of Pittsburgh, thus making him an avid Steelers and Penguins fan (he might hop on the Pirates bandwagon in the future). He enjoys filming videos for church, school, or just with friends in his spare time. Adam is currently attending Point Park University in Pittsburgh where he is a sophomore in the Cinema and Digital Arts program.  Apart from school, he is also a co-leader of a group at the APEX Young Adults ministry at Allison Park Church in the North Hills area.  Adam’s schooling and leadership at Allison Park has been preparing him for his journey with LifeStone Church.  He is so overjoyed to become the Media Director at LifeStone and use his talents with technology and the media services to present God to the people of the South Side in a modern and stylized way. Adam’s goals are to use his directing capabilities to create videos and presentations that allow people to learn about God visually, thus allowing them to start to understand Him spiritually.

Jared & Heather Lanza
Student Pastor (Jared) & Nursery/Pre K Director (Heather)
Jared Lanza:(jaredl@lifestonechurch.com)
Jared was born in Elwood City, PA.  After living there until he was three, he and his family settled in the Baltimore/Washington area. Around Jared's freshman year of high school, he decided to get serious about his relationship with God and decided to purposefully follow Jesus. It was also at this time that Jared felt God call him into ministry. Jared attended Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. There, he studied toward a Bachelors degree in Church Ministries with a focus in Pastoral Ministry.  Upon graduation, they moved to Milford, OH and Jared became the Student Ministries Pastor at the Vineyard Church. Heather took a position as Assistant Children's Director there as well.  After three years, Jared felt led to go back to school and study for his Master's in Management from the University of Phoenix.
Heather Lanza:(heatherl@lifestonechurch.com)
Heather was born in Greenville, SC and grew up in Rock Hill, SC until her family moved to Cincinnati, OH when she was 12. Her parents were actively involved in intervention ministries, and Heather's dad became the Executive Director of Teen Challenge in Milford, OH. Heather grew up                     seeing God's grace changing peoples' lives and wanted to devote her life to actively                   serving God in ministry as well. After visiting her friend at Southeastern, Heather                             knew that it was where God wanted her, and enrolled in the Youth Ministry program.                    Jared and Heather have two great kids, Autumn and Lincoln.

Maryellen Busch
KidsLife Director

Maryellen is so excited to run in the path God is paving ahead for Kid’s Life Ministries and feels privileged that He would choose her as His messenger! She gave her heart to God as a young child and has been serving Him ever since. All through these years He has built a passion in her heart to serve kids. The pivotal point in her life was at a “Kids Camp” in 2003. She was drawn that year, by God, instructing her to step out and work in the kid’s ministry of her church.  Though she had plans of becoming a WNBA star He had other plans that were far greater than she imagined. He has confirmed that this is her life’s calling since she has had many opportunities to be involved with kids and and has developed a heart of love for seeing their lives changed! Her heart is that kids would know God in a deep friendship, and through this they will see the GREAT things He has in store for them! She believes; “Kids are the future of the church; they need to know God is real, that He loves them with an everlasting love and that they hold a great place in the kingdom of God!"

She believes that it is the message of the gospel that is sacred- not the method- and engineers events, outreaches, and projects that communicate the gospel to this creative and diverse community in ways that are both real and understandable. A fire began in Tiffany's heart when she was 14 ministering to the prostitutes and homeless community of her hometown, in Phoenix, Arizona, and has continued to burn to this day . Tiffany is truly at her happiest when sharing the love of Jesus with people and feels absolutely humbled and honored to be a part of the transformation that Jesus is bringing to the South Side!

Ron Lombardo
Associate Pastor

Ronald Lombardo grew up in New Castle, Pennsylvania, where he was actively involved with First Assembly of God.  He went on to receive his Bachelor of Architecture from Penn State University in 2006.  In moving to Pittsburgh to pursue a career, his shift in purpose changed as he became active at Allison Park Church.  Ron served as a youth and young adult leader and had the opportunity to co-lead a missions trip to New York City.  These experiences have clarified his vision and call to Pittsburgh to plant a life-giving church in the heart of the south side.  He is excited about connecting a diverse community to a loving Jesus.  Ron is still pursuing his license in architecture as well as continuing his education and calling in ministry.

Jack & Jamie Thomas

lead pastors

Jack and Jamie have been preparing to plant and pastor LifeStone Church since August of 2007. The funny thing is that for most of this time, they had no idea what they were preparing for.  God has since been very clear to them about what their goal and calling is all about.  They are so excited to be a part of God’s plan for the city of Pittsburgh! Jack and Jamie were youth pastors for a number of years in Pennsylvania and Florida and in July of 2007 they moved to the Washington D.C. area to be a part of a church plant located in Alexandria, Virginia.  While they were in Virginia, they gained some valuable experience in church planting which was some major preparation for the upcoming call to plant LifeStone Church in Pittsburgh.  Jack and Jamie are so blessed to have two great kids, Annali and Gabriel.

The “Community Focus” of LifeStone Church is that Authentic Relationships, Serving Our Community, and Spiritual Transformation would bridge all cultures to the cross.

The community focus is the heartbeat and DNA of LifeStone Church.  As we do our part in developing authentic relationships with people, and we serve and love those people unconditionally, that is when God shows up and does only what He can do, spiritual transformation of the hearts and lives of those people He adores more than anything in the world.  When all of these key elements occur, we like to say that we are "bridging all cultures to the cross"!

The real question in trying to understand the LifeStone Church community focus is simple, how are we going to put it into action?  Here is how:

So what is a tangible way we can accomplish our community focus?  We believe that our mission of "Celebrate God. Enjoy Life, Love People" is us putting our community focus into action.  These three are the major connection points at LifeStone Church and the ways we will start to "bridge all cultures to the cross".  Celebrate God represents all of our worship gatherings.  The times where we corporately come together to put God first!  We worship God through singing and the preaching of the Word.   (click here for more)

We look forward to the perfect New Heavens and a New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. ‘And so shall we forever be with the Lord!’ (2 Peter 3:13, Revelation 21, Revelation 22)

There will be a final judgment in which the dead will be resurrected and judged according to their works (Matt. 25:31-46 & Romans 2:1-9). Everyone whose name is not found written in the Book of Life, along with the devil and his angels, will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire (Rev. 20:11-15). Those whose names are written in the Book of Life will be resurrected and stand at the judgment seat of Christ to be rewarded for their good deeds (I Cor. 4:5).

Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers. (Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17, James 5:14-16)

The nine fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) are the by-product of a Spirit-filled life and evidence of spiritual maturity. The nine gifts of the Spirit are different manifestations of the Spirit to build up the body (I Cor. 12:1-11). We are instructed to diligently seek the             gifts (I Cor. 12:31, 14:1), but they must be exercised in an orderly way (I Cor. 14:26-33) in the context of love (I Cor. 13:1-13).

The Church is the body of Christ (I Corinthians 12:12-27) and has a three-fold purpose: To evangelize the world (Acts 1:8 & Mark 16:15-16), to worship God (I Cor. 12:13), and to equip for ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16 & I Cor. 12:28, 14:12).

Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God. (Romans 12:1-2, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Hebrews 13:12)

The baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them utterance. (Acts 2:4)

Baptism in Water
The Scripture teaches that all who repent and believe in Christ are to be baptized by immersion (Matthew 28:19). Baptism is a public profession of faith in Christ. It is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is a declaration to the world that we have died to sin and have been raised with Christ to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4).

Communion
The Lord’s table consists of two elements: the bread and cup. Those elements are symbolic of the body and blood of Christ. Communion is a memorial of Christ’s sufferings on the cross and a celebration of our salvation. It is an opportunity for a believer to examine himself and experience forgiveness.

All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31)

The only means of salvation is Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12 & John 14:6). He died on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins (I Peter 2:24). He offers each of us a pardon for our sins (Hebrews 9:26) and wants us to become children of God (John 1:12).
When we put our faith in Christ, it triggers a spiritual chain reaction. We become the Temple of the Holy Spirit (I Cor. 6:19). Our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Rev. 3:5). We become citizens of heaven (Phil. 3:20-21). We are given eternal life             (John 3:16). We are adopted and become children of God (Gal. 4:4-7). Our sins are forgiven and forgotten (Heb. 8:12). We are credited with the righteousness of Christ (Rom. 4:4-5). We are born-again (John 3:3). God takes ownership of us (I Cor. 6:20). We receive an eternal inheritance (Ephesians 1:13-14 & I Peter 1:3-5).
The evidence of salvation is two-fold. The internal evidence is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:16). The external evidence is the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22, 23). We become a new creation (II Cor. 5:17) and are transformed into the image of Christ (II Cor. 3:18).

Man was created in the image of God (Genesis 2:26). However, by a voluntary act of the will, Adam and Eve disobeyed God (Genesis 3:6). That first sin had several repercussions. Man was excommunicated from the garden of Eden (Genesis 3:23), a curse was pronounced (Genesis 3:14-19), the process of physical death began (Genesis 2:17), and man died spiritually (Romans 5:12-19). Sin separated humankind from God (Ephesians 2:11-18 and left man in a fallen or sinful condition (Romans 3:23).

Jesus Christ is the second person of the Trinity, the eternal Son of God. The Scripture declares his virgin birth (Matthew 1:18-23); His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26 & I Peter 2:22 & I John 3:4,5); His miracles (Acts 2:22 & 10:37-38); His substitutionary death on the cross (II Corinthians 5:21 & I Peter 2:24 & I Corinthians 15:4); His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:1-6 & I Corinthians 15:4); His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9,11 & Philippians 2:9-11).

God is called by many different names because of the different dimensions of His personality, but God is one (Deuteronomy 6:4). God is super-dimensional and eternally self-existent (Jn. 8:54-59). God is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. He is the creator of the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1&2). While God is one, He has revealed Himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

The Old and New Testament are verbally inspired by God, the only written revelation from God to man. The Bible is infallible and the authoritative rule of faith and conduct for mankind (II Timothy 3:15-17, I Thessalonians 2:13 & Peter 1:21).
